When Leadership Loses Its Compass: The Drought We Don't See

We're waiting for someone else to fix what we broke. That's the real crisis.
We're waiting for someone else to fix what we broke. That's the real crisis.

There's a drought happening right now that has nothing to do with rain.

It's a drought of awareness. A parched landscape where fundamental truths about our interconnectedness have dried up in the minds of those who lead—and in the minds of those who follow.

When leaders choose to lead without teaching the fundamental necessity to respect and understand the life of our Earth, the outcome isn't just environmental—it's spiritual. We see periods of collective apathy, a lack of desire to make changes that benefit humanity as a whole. And just like a physical drought, this one has worsened over the years, creating massive impacts on the ecosystems of our communities, our relationships, and our ability to care for one another.

The Crisis of Disconnection

The conditions of just living have deteriorated because we've accepted a dangerous philosophy: that someone else will "make right" whatever doesn't align with our personal comfort zone.

This is where the real harm begins.

When the majority operates from a drought mentality—scarcity, self-protection, individualism—we hand over our power. We wait for governments, corporations, or spiritual leaders to fix what we ourselves have allowed to fracture. But there are chasms in the collective mind, deep rifts that connect to self-serving patterns. If there weren't, we wouldn't be in our current position.

The Myth of the Lone Wolf

As people go deeper into "lone wolfing"—the belief that isolation equals independence, that "there's nothing I can do anyway"—they become dangerously mistaken.

This self-inflicted isolation has uprooted the very seeds planted at the beginning of time.

Love.

We were born as organic beings, yes. But we are also fundamentally reliant on every other being to keep the ways of peace and Love on course. The lone wolf philosophy may sound strong, but it's a severance from the most basic law of existence: we are because we are together.

What This Means for You

If you're reading this and feeling the weight of that disconnection, you're not alone. In fact, your awareness of it is the first sign that the drought is ending—at least within you.

The work ahead isn't about waiting for someone else to lead differently. It's about recognizing that you are part of the ecosystem. Your thoughts, your choices, your willingness to respect the life of this Earth and the beings on it—these matter more than you've been told.

Leadership begins with you. Teaching begins with you. The shift from drought to flourishing starts the moment you decide that Love—not scarcity, not fear, not isolation—will guide your next step.

Three Practices to End the Drought Within

1. Witness Your "Lone Wolf" Patterns For the next week, notice when you think: "There's nothing I can do" or "Someone else will handle it." Write down these moments. What are you avoiding responsibility for? Where have you handed over your power?

2. Practice One Act of Earth-Respect Daily This doesn't have to be grand. Touch the soil. Thank your water before drinking it. Speak to a plant. Pick up litter you didn't drop. These small acts are seeds. They rewire the chasms in your mind that have normalized disconnection.

3. Choose One Person to Reconnect With Reach out to someone you've drifted from—not with obligation, but with genuine curiosity about their life. We can't heal collective isolation while maintaining personal isolation. Start with one thread, and pull it gently back toward Love.

A Note from Megan: This is a way of being I was shown during my time in Heaven. We are not separate. The moment we act like we are, we create the very suffering we claim to want to end. Let's choose differently.
